Gravity Poster Floats In

At CinemaCon last month, one of the more effective (albeit brief) footage reels we saw was a small glimpse at Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity. The first trailer is expected shortly, but the initial teaser poster has beaten it to the punch.

Sandra Bullock and George Clooney star in the ambitious tale as, respectively, Dr Ryan Stone, a medical engineer in orbit for her first shuttle mission, and veteran space cowboy Matt Kowalsky, on his last trip before retirement (uh-oh!).

While they’re out on a seemingly routine spacewalk (you know, as mundane as WALKING IN SPACE can get), tragedy strikes when their shuttle is destroyed in a random accident. The pair are suddenly very much alone, tethered only to each other and spiralling off into the inky depths. There’s no radio contact with Earth, and as panic sets in, they discover the only way to get home might be to go deeper into space. No, that doesn't make sense to us either, but we're assuming that all will become clear.

Cuaron, who last made Children Of Men, and wrote this one with his brother Jonas, promises some astonishing 3D spectacle and with Bullock and Clooney as the leads, the acting should at least be up to standard. The trailer will dock soon, and Gravity itself is out on October 18.
