It was a monstrously fun time last night as Godzilla stomped into London for its European premiere, ahead of its cinema debut this Thursday. The human stars of the film, as well as director Gareth Edwards, were on hand to introduce it, but the big lizard himself was strangely absent. Perhaps he's shooting elsewhere right now.

The film, as you all know by now, sees the enormo-lizard cause trouble for a number of human cities while a cast including Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston, Juliette Binoche, Ken Watanabe, Sally Hawkins, David Strathairn and Richard T. Jones try to hold things together.

Godzilla hits cinemas in the UK on Thursday May 15, and US screens the following day. You might want to brace yourself.
