Pacific Rim

If you're making a film about giant monsters fighting giant robots, it's only reasonable that the poster for your film be enormous. So it is with Pacific Rim, which has released a poster big enough to go around the equator three times* - and here it is.

What can you see here? Well, to us it looks like that's a double helping of Gypsy Danger, the American Jaeger piloted by Charlie Hunnam's Raleigh and Rinko Kikuchi's Mako, in the blue. Just emerging from the Shatterdome on the left of the image is - we think - the Australian Jaeger, and that red fella in the middle is China's Crimson Typhoon, a Jaeger piloted by triplets for extra coolness.

Facing them are two extremely large, extremely dangerous alien beasties from a rift beyond the sea - that one on the right in particular. The film, of course, has humanity building the giant robot Jaegers to meet the threat of these city-killing beasts, but as the threat becomes greater and the robots meet their match, humanity is in dire straits and Raleigh and Mako may be their last hope.

Pacific Rim also stars Idris Elba, Charlie Day, Clifton Collins Jr and Burn Gorman, and hits cinemas on July 12. Brace yourselves now.
