George Clooney will have his day in court, but not until May 29. The actor is being sued in the French courts by screenwriter Stephanie Vegniault who says that Clooney’s oil thriller Syriana was copied from her own 2002 script, Oversight, but the case has been delayed for procedural reasons. Vegniault is demanding 35% of the film’s earnings in France and United States, but with Clooney saying his inspiration was a book called See No Evil, and Warner Bros getting their guns out, does she stand a hope in hell? And what’s Clooney going to do if she wins?
