So far, the trailer campaign for David Fincher’s look at the difficult birth of Facebook,** The Social Network**, has been a smart, intriguing, and original, using Facebook-style text over dialogue from the film. Now the slightly more traditional theatrical trailer is here, and it’s just as good.
Featuring an amazing choral cover of Radiohead’s Creep, the footage flits from the Facebook we all know to the drama that unravelled as Mark Zuckerberg and his collaborators first sparked to the idea of taking the college social experience and making it available in the world through one big virtual site. Except it wasn’t quite as easy as that, with conflicting personalities, copyright claims and a major investigation.
Featuring Jessie Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake and more, The Social Network really does look like something special. With a script by Aaron Sorkin and Fincher’s usual directorial fastidiousness, we’re seriously excited for this one. Take a look at the footage below and see if you’re ready to hit “like”.
The Social Network arrives in cinemas on October 15.
