You knew it was coming. Yesterday, the first images from Will Smith’s latest, crime pic Focus, arrived online, giving us all an initial glimpse at the new drama. As sure as day follows night, the trailer has landed on the web, offering a proper look at the film.
Smith stars as Nicky, an experienced master of misdirection who becomes romantically involved with novice con artist Jess (Margot Robbie). As he’s teaching her the tricks of the trade, she gets too close for comfort and he abruptly ends the relationship.
Three years later, his former flame – now an accomplished femme fatale – shows up in Buenos Aires in the middle of the high stakes racing season. And in the midst of Nicky’s latest, very dangerous scheme, she throws his plans for a loop… And the con man decidedly off his focus.
Focus comes from Crazy, Stupid, Love writing/directing team Glenn Ficarra and John Requa and also features the likes of Gerald McRaney, Rodrigo Santoro, BD Wong and Robert Taylor. It’ll find its way into our cinemas on February 27 next year.
