With the Kickstarted **Veronica Mars Movie quickly approaching its mid-March release date, the team behind the film are looking to drum up a little extra awareness by putting its opening scene on to the ‘net. So pick up your private eye badge and take a look. Oh, and no, there are no spoilers lurking within, unless you have never seen an episode of the TV show.

What this initial footage boils down to is a recap, drawn almost entirely from clips of the show, of Veronica Mars’ setup. There's the seething cauldron of class war that is her beachside hometown of Neptune. There's the incident that forced her father out of his job as sheriff and into life as a private investigator. There's the tragedy that prompted Veronica (Kristen Bell) to become a teenage private eye herself. And there's the combustible relationship she shared with rich kid Logan Echolls (Jason Dohring)… It’s all laid out here with Veronica providing typically wry voice-over.

The movie itself takes place a decade after Veronica left her hometown to pursue a career, and kicks in just as she’s graduated law school and is busy interviewing for positions at firms. But her past comes calling again when Logan is suddenly the prime suspect in a murder and she must unwillingly dive back into the murky world of Neptune. You’ll get to see the rest on limited release in some cinemas and on video on demand platforms on March 14.
