First Trailer For V/H/S: Viral Online

Fast becoming an annual tradition, the anarchic V/H/S anthology franchise shows no signs of exhausting its tape collection. Hot on the heels of V/H/S 2, which only hit DVD in the UK last autumn, here's the first trailer for the third instalment, V/H/S: Viral. Where the first two films shared the overseeing eyes of Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett, Viral's is an entirely new team. But the chaos seems consistent...

The set-up for V/H/S was a criminal gang sent into a house by we-don't-know-who to retrieve a mysterious tape from an even more mysterious collection. V/H/S 2 started with private investigators finding a tape stash while searching for a missing student. And Viral's wraparound somehow centres on teenage thrillseekers in a car chase. Where do the videos figure in that? All will no doubt become clear.

Within that framework, the short stories this time involve a deranged illusionist who obtains an object of genuine magical power; a home-made machine that opens a door to a parallel world; teenage sk8ers skaters who find themselves on the wrong side of a Mexican death cult; and a secret society tracking a serial killer.

The directors this time are Nacho Vigalondo (Timecrimes); Marcel Sarmiento (Deadgirl); Gregg Bishop (Dance Of The Dead); Justin Benson (Resolution); and Todd Lincoln (The Apparition). There are no release dates so far, but a London FrightFest appearance in August is a good bet.
