Following the success of their first joint directorial effort This Is The End, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are back with another comedy. It once more features Rogen and James Franco in front of the camera, but this time swaps an apocalyptic tale about the pair and their real-life friends for a political satire about a smarmy journalist and his producer offered the gig of a lifetime. Take a look at the first teaser trailer for The Interview.

Franco this time plays Dave Skylark, the none-too-bright but very popular host of celebrity tabloid TV show Skylark Tonight. When he and producer / best pal Aaron Rapoport learn that North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un is a huge fan of their work, they manage to land an interview with the tyrant, seeing it as their chance to be legitimized as journalists.

But with their travel to Pyongyang set, the CIA decides that Dave and Aaron are the best shot they have at assassinating Kim, and set about finding a way for the two least qualified men imaginable to off a world leader.

The film appears to maintain Rogen and Goldberg’s – who wrote the script with Dan Sterling – typically silly sensibility, while still switching gears for something new. With Lizzy Caplan, Randall Park, Timothy Simons and Diana Bang in the cast, The Interview will hit UK screens on October 29.
