With just a fortnight to go until Empire’s sensational Movie-Con III – our celebration of all things cinema, in partnership with the BFI – we know that you guys are chomping at the bit for as much info as we can spare. While we’re not going to blow all the surprises just yet, we are delighted to be able to announce the first two paid previews, along with some more official ‘Con goodies that will blow your mind.

We’ll get to those first. We can confirm that Sylvester Stallone’s The Expendables – the ultimate team-up of some of the action genre’s biggest badasses – will be the opening night film on Friday August 13th, just ahead of the first ever Movie-Con party.

And we can exclusively reveal that we’ll be screening stunning 3D footage from Disney’s upcoming blockbuster, Tron: Legacy, over the weekend. Full details TBC on that one. But get ready to enter Flynn’s Arcade one more time. Both Tron: Legacy and The Expendables are included in the price of your Movie-Con ticket, along with closing film, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World.

And we’re also delighted to announce the first two paid previews at Movie-Con III. On Saturday August 14, after the first day has ended, you can feast your eyes on The Hole 3D, a spritely horror film that marks the return of Joe Dante to the director’s chair, and also is the first full 3D screening at the ‘Con. That will screen at 6.20pm, and will be followed by Jean Reno in the action thriller, 22 Bullets at 8.30pm.

Both screenings are open to the public, and will cost £9. The ticket price for The Hole 3D and** 22 Bullets** will not be covered by your Movie-Con ticket.

The remaining two paid previews, for Sunday night, will be announced in due course. In the meantime, hie thee to the BFI website to start booking.
