Lightcycles? Check. Neon cityscapes? Check. Futuristic ultimate frisbee - sorry, *disc *- and gravity-defying parkouring? Check and check. By the looks of this first-glimpse trailer for Tron: Evolution, the spin-off game has all the Syd Mead stylistic flourishes we've come to expect from the franchise.
And, of course, if ever there was a movie ripe for spinning off into the gaming realm it's Tron. Following on from the arcade game and first-person shooter Tron 2.0, among others, Tron: Evolution is a third-person action-adventure that pitches players into the digital world of Tron where they're faced with enough cyber-skullduggery to give Steve Jobs an aneurysm.
Developers Propaganda Games, the Disney-owned studio behind Turok and Pirates Of The Caribbean: Armada Of The Damned, promise that the game's narrative will bridge the gap between its movie cousins, **Tron **and Tron: Legacy.
Tron: Evolution is out just in time to pop up in your Christmas stocking and will appear on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, Nintendo DS, PSP and PC, with a multiplayer version, Tron: Evolution Battle Grids for the Wii version.
