First Look At Samuel L. Jackson In Big Game

With shooting just about complete, the first official still from Big Game has just fallen from the sky in an escape pod, depicting a stranded US President Samuel L. Jackson atop a snowy Finnish promontory with Onni Tommila. With the picture comes news of some hitherto unannounced cast: Felicity Huffman, Ted Levine and Victor Garber have all lately joined the production.

Big Game is director Jalmari Helender's follow-up to the excellent Rare Exports (which also starred Tommila). This one involves Jackson's president crash-landing in dense Finnish forest after Air Force One is taken down by... let's call them "assailants". Are they terrorists? To say much more would take us into spoiler territory, but Jackson's President finds himself the sport of the title, being hunted across difficult terrain with only Tommila's junior hunter Oskari for protection. Let's hope this running man is a hard target.

On the ground pursuing Jackson and Tommila are Ray Stevenson and Mehmet Kurtulus, while Jim Broadbent heads up the drama taking place 5000 miles away in The Pentagon. Jackson and Broadbent: there's a poster we're looking forward to. Huffman is playing the director of the CIA, with Levine as a general and Garber as the Vice President. Finland is being played by Bavaria.

Entertainment One are doing the business of releasing this in the UK, with a US deal likely to be snapped up at the American Film Market next month. There are no release dates yet, but expect to see Big Game during 2014.
