Thought we were going to go an entire week without X-Men: First Class pumping out a new chunk of footage, picture, trailer or other promo? Think again! As we close on the finishing line – also known as the June 1 release date – the last few pieces of the publicity puzzle are beginning to slide into place with the release of a scene from the film, which you can view below.

Spoilerphobes shouldn’t be too worried (unless you’re looking to stay completely pure until the whole movie is available for your cinema-going pleasure) as this is just a small taster feature Professor Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) trying to explain the nature of mutants and what they might have to offer to representatives from the US government and military (including Oliver Platt’s mysterious Man in Black).

Suffice to say, the government types are ready to make with the scoffing until the good professor shows off some of his psychic abilities, which quickly turns to accusations of spying, a kerfuffle that is then silenced when Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) does her shape-shifting thang.

Another intriguing name among those assembled to meet Xavier is “Agent Stryker,” which shows the new film looking to add in a few extra references to X-Men continuity (though depending on who you talk to, it’s not yet clear just how closely this will tie into the other titles).

Take a gander at the clip and let us know your thoughts.
