Since Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is Disney’s big attempt at plundering blockbuster glory this summer (not to mention the much-anticipated continuation of its biggest franchise), there has naturally been an onslaught of teasers, trailers, posters and pics. But now we’re being offered the chance to check out an actual clip from Rob Marshall’s film, with the adventures of Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow continuing below.
Don’t worry if you’re concerned about big plot spoilers, since this is a pretty simple scene of Jack realising he’s been betrayed by the one person you’d naturally expect to pull a fast one on him, and then escaping from a grand banquet in his inimitable style.
From the looks of it, it’s fairly early on in the proceedings, which will see Sparrow cajoled/kidnapped/forced into joining the quest for the fabled Fountain of Youth when he crosses paths and swords with Angelica (Penelope Cruz) an old flame who might just be a little too hot for Jack to handle. Oh, and she’s also a con woman with links to fearsome pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane), who has his own reasons for tracking down the fountain, none of them good.
