We’ve seen so many little moments from **Iron Man 3 **in the raft of teasers, trailers and TV spots that it’s actually a pleasant surprise to slow down and enjoy one single chunk from the film. The first proper clip features no battalion of suits, just one very angry Genius Billionaire Playboy Philanthropist calling out someone he sees as a bully.
Yes, this is Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark in full-on bitter mode, less taunting and more promising Ben Kingsley’s Mandarin that he’s going to find him and get vengeance for an attack on one of Stark’s closest friends.
This being Tony, of course, he can’t help but let the arrogance kick in a little, leaving his home address – 10880 Malibu Point, 90265, trivia fans! – and daring the Mandarin to come get him. Which, judging by what we’ve seen in the trailers, is an invitation all too readily accepted.
Frankly, all this teasing just has us ready to see the thing in all its finished, shiny, effects-laden fun. Yet we still have to wait until April 26 because Shane Black, Drew Pearce, Disney and Marvel are spoilsport meanies who enjoy making us wait. Check out the most recent trailer below, along with our feature on pause-worthy moments from said footage. If you’re craving real, in-depth and exclusive access to Team Iron Man, check out the April issue of Empire, which can still be found on the iPad.
