Though the marketing team apparently can’t decide between calling the movie Furious 7 (in the States) and regular brand Fast & Furious 7 (here), the trailer for the latest instalment in the go-fast franchise is the same deal. Vin Diesel’s Dom, Paul Walker’s Brian and the rest of the gang going up against some baddies with the usual vehicular flair and quippy teamwork. Check out the madness below.
This time, the threat comes from the brother of the late Owen Shaw, played by Jason Statham, who we don’t see much of, but is clearly a force to be reckoned with. Also causing problems for our speedy heroes? An armoured bus with some unpleasant surprises and a stunt involving cars falling from the back of a plane, parachuting down and landing with the sort of bump that must play merry hell on even the top-notch suspension they’re working with.
With James Wan at the wheel this time, the new Fast & Furious appears to offer what you’d expect from the franchise: fast cars, attractive people, silly stunts and an almost complete disregard for Newtonian physics. Oh, and Dwayne Johnson’s Luke Hobbs proving he either has Wolverine-like healing powers or just works through the pain. Team sling it!
With Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Elsa Pataky and Lucas Black on board for this one, Fast & Furious 7 is out on April 3.
