Horns, adapted from Joe Hill’s stonking book, is drawing praise from critics at the Toronto International Film Festival. One thing it doesn’t have (at least, currently) is a distribution deal, so there’s no trailer just yet. But what we do have, courtesy of the team at Collider, is a clip featuring Daniel Radcliffe and David Morse.
Radcliffe plays Ig Perrish, the never-convicted prime suspect for the violent rape and murder of his girlfriend Merrin (Juno Temple). Hungover from a night of hard drinking, Ig awakens one morning to find horns growing from his head and soon realizes their power drives people to confess their sins and give in to their most selfish and unspeakable impulses – an effective tool in his quest to discover the true circumstances of his late girlfriend’s tragedy and to exact revenge on her killer.
Directed by Alexandre Aja from Keith Bunin’s script, Horns is one of those films we really want to see, and are keeping our fingers crossed that it finds a deal. Given Hill’s following and Radcliffe’s appeal, we figure that shouldn’t be too hard.
With James Remar, Max Minghella and Kelli Garner also in the cast, Horns naturally doesn’t have a set release date yet, but should hopefully hit cinemas next year.
