Fast & Furious 7 Super Bowl Spot Drives Up

You know by now what to expect from a **Fast & Furious **trailer – lots of speedy, powerful cars, a glimpse of a big city, some dancing women, Vin Diesel gravel-grumbling about family or some such theme and a big, showcase stunt. Or two. While the plane moment has already been put out there, this Fast & Furious 7 Super Bowl ad swings the spotlight to Diesel driving a car between two skyscrapers in Abu Dhabi even as Jason Statham’s villain shoots at him.

With the car crew back in Los Angeles after successfully taking down Luke Evans’ Owen Shaw in the last film, they probably thought they were in for an easy ride. But a big ol’ bald road bump appears in the shape of Shaw’s older brother, played by Jason Statham. With the Toretto family house blown to smithereens as just his calling card, Diesel’s Dom and the crew are soon headed to foreign climes on a mission to try to thwart this new threat.

Given an added touch of maudlin reminiscence by the death of Paul Walker while on a break from shooting, the new film pushes the idea of “the last ride” to the hilt, though we doubt this will completely wrap up the franchise. Not when these things are still money-makers.

With Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, Chris 'Ludacris' Bridges, Tyrese Gibson, Dwayne Johnson, Kurt Russell, Lucas Black, Djimon Hounsou, Ronda Rousey and Tony Jaa on board, and James Wan steering the vehicle this time around, **Fast & Furious 7 **puts the pedal to the metal on April 3.
