With Guardians Of The Galaxy now just a few couple of weeks away, the publicity blitz is really stepping up. Disney and Marvel have already screened 17 minutes of footage in the US (with the same presentation due in the UK today), and now, for those who didn’t make it to the screenings, is an extended trailer featuring some new clips courtesy of Fandango.
Guardians’ story sees Chris Pratt's Peter Quill, aka Starlord, meet an unusual suspects line-up of extra-terrestrials including Gamora (Zoe Saldana), a green-skinned assassin; Drax The Destroyer (Dave Bautista), a hulking warrior; talking tree Groot (Vin Diesel) and gruff warrior Rocket (Bradley Cooper).
As you can see from the footage, the big bad (well, nearly) here is Ronan The Accuser, (Lee Pace), a powerful force for darkness who reports to someone who may just be even worse. Someone we’ve already met (briefly)…
Karen Gillan, John C. Reilly, Benicio Del Toro, Michael Rooker, Peter Serafinowicz and Nathan Fillion are also all part of the cast, with director James Gunn’s brother Sean Gunn providing performance capture for Rocket and appearing as Kraglin, first mate to Rooker’s marauding Yondu.
James Gunn announced on Twitter that he’s now wrapped the film completely and is off on a voyage of his own to promote the finished product. Guardians Of The Galaxy will arrive in the UK on July 31. For much more on the film, pick up the latest issue of **Empire.
