Exclusive: Tintin One-Sheet Online

Among all the Thors and Green Lanterns, mighty as they are, there's one comic-book adaptation this year that will corner the market in childhood nostalgia. Steven Spielberg's The Adventures Of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn is it: a perfect storm of pioneering filmmaking genius and Dangerous-Book-For-Boys subject matter if ever there was one. Here is the movie's new international one-sheet to give a feel for its performance-captured heroes. Check back tomorrow morning for an exclusive look at the first trailer.

This poster effort, meanwhile, is a) a rather gorgeous blue-and-gold combo and b) a nod to the globe-spanning, epic sweep of the story. There on the left is a modern (for the 1930s) sea plane in trouble; on the right a similarly beleagured sailing ship, the Unicorn of the title. And in the centre of it all is the boy reporter himself, along with his faithful canine companion Snowy (who is considerably smarter than your average dog). As with previous pictures from the film, Tintin's own face is in shadow - but his signature blue jersey and plus fours are all present and correct.

The Adventures Of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn boasts a voice cast with an Anglo-Saxon burr to it. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are bumbling detectives Thompson and Thomson, Daniel Craig voices Red Rackham, while Jamie Bell is the man with the iconic quiff. Also featuring are Cary Elwes, Toby Jones, Mackenzie Crook and Daniel Mays. Rounding out the stunning selection of talent involved, Peter Jackson's producing; Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish wrote the script along with Doctor Who genius Steven Moffat; John Williams is scoring, and we hear that God Almighty was the Gaffer*.

Update: Aint It Cool has the first look at the US domestic one-sheet for the movie, which features almost exactly the same shot of Tintin and Snowy, but against a much simpler background of the Unicorn itself, large as life and twice as sailing-ship-y.
