While Sofia Coppola's latest slice of elegantly careworn drama Somewhere began its life as "Chateau Marmont" - a reference to the B&B of choice for Hollywood stars since the silver screen era* - its title captures perfectly the ennui and listlessly that infects actor Johnny Marco (Stephen Dorff). He lives in the aforementioned hotel, with room service, parties and flunkeys on tap, but has a life without meaning, a prisoner to his surrounds and his celebrity. Apparently that's all much harder than it sounds.

As this brief but pivotal clip suggests, the film also looks at the dazed and confused whirligig that is a Hollywood's star's life: all junkets and bamboozlingly banal questions from movie journalists.

Cue the arrival back in his life of daughter Cleo (Dakota Fanning), Marco's possible route to salvation. She's a wise-beyond-her-years 11 year-old whose throws his priorities into stark contrast. And as the trailer suggests, it ain't plain sailing.

Will **Somewhere **capture the aching melancholy and wit of Coppola's best and best-loved film, Lost In Translation? Find out when it's released on December 10.

Apart from Bill Murray who sleeps at his mansion, obvs.
