Already slated for a prime Opening Night slot at this year’s BFI London Film Festival, Suffragette is already making itself known. We’re pleased to premiere the new poster for the film.

Released to tie in with Emmeline Pankhurst Day, honouring one of the main women behind the fight for women’s right to vote in the early 20th century, the poster utilises the colours purple, white and green, which were a key part of the Suffragette movement, with purple signifying dignity, white showing purity and green meaning hope. The colours are woven through the movie.

Suffragette tells the tale of the footsoldiers who headlined movement, fighting against ingrained sexism and their own family’s reactions. Meryl Streep plays Pankhurst, while Helena Bonham Carter plays Edith New, and Carey Mulligan is Maud, who becomes a part of their struggle.

With Sarah Gavron directing an Abi Morgan script, Suffragette already has a lot of buzz. It’ll debut at the festival on October 7 at the Odeon Leicester Square, with simultaneous screenings in cinemas across the UK.The film will then arrive properly on October 30.
