It's exciting times for fans of Darren Aronofsky, Russell Crowe, acts of meteorological mayhem and giant wooden sea vessels: Noah is less than a month away from our cinemas. Aronofsky's adaptation of the Bible story will see humanity brought low before the might of its creator. Only Noah and his family heed the warnings of impending doom.
This nifty new motion poster takes us inside the ark that the grizzled patriarch has constructed to save them all from a watery grave.
Crowe is, of course, playing the ark-building family man, with Jennifer Connelly as his wife. He not only has the watery genocide of a discouraged deity to deal with in this story, but also the violent opposition of Ray Winstone's Tubal Cain. Anthony Hopkins plays Methuselah, Logan Lerman and Douglas Booth are Noah's sons, and Emma Watson plays a friend of the family, Ila.
The word of mouth hasn't always been kind, although that's hardly unusual for a movie of this scale and ambition and hasn't deterred us from putting it on April's must-see list. The question of how **Noah **will play with the same audiences that made The Passion Of The Christ a surprise smash will be an interesting one to follow.
Has Aronofsky played the story straight enough for middle American tastes? Find out when **Noah **sloshes in on April 4. Head here for the trailer in the meantime.
