Looks like Jane Levy has been confusing her regular moisturiser with buckets and buckets of gore in this new image from Evil Dead, fresh from the pages of the upcoming April issue of Empire magazine.
We spoke to director Fede Alvarez on set in Auckland and got a little on his approach to the film. "The very first question we asked ourselves was, 'What is a relevant way to tell the story today?' and then, 'Why would a group of people lug themselves up to a cabin in the middle of the woods?' 'Just for fun' didn't cut it for me - I wanted to do something more interesting, and so the drugs intervention plot came from that, and it just kicks you into a more interesting story straightaway."
But never fear! "Even though you're trying to be grounded, it's still an Evil Dead movie: one minute they're dealing with real things, 'real' problems, and then suddenly that book shows up..."
Evil Dead hits UK cinemas on April 19, and promises to be "the most terrifying film you will ever experience". For more on this film and the other scary movies headed our way, pick up the new Empire when it hits shelves on Thursday.
