Nicolas Cage is one seriously Bad Lieutenan****t – and though we don’t have the film itself to prove it, we have the poster, and we have it all exclusive-like.
As posters go, it’s approximately a kabillion times better than the previous poster, which suffered horrendously from poster-based floaty head syndrome (check it out for yourself here for proof), whereas this one shows that menacing scowl that the resurgent Nick Cage is famous for in this amazingly bonkers Werner Herzog number.
For anyone not aware of this soon to be released Cage-fest, it’s the story of a New Orleans cop (a Lieutenant, no less) who injures his back rescuing someone during Hurricane Katrina.
Over the course of recuperating from his injury, he uses and becomes addicted to his pain medication, moving onto cocaine, heroin, crack and marijuana. We told you he was a bad lieutenant. Like, a really bad one.
We don’t want to give anything else away, as it’s truly a film like no other, but look at the fact that there’s a lizard on the poster. Intriguing, no? Our lips are sealed. Until you read the review, of course, but let’s ignore that for now.
The Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call - New Orleans is out in cinemas on May 21.
