Talented, handsome and dating Marion Cotillard - we think Guillaume Canet may have won the DNA lottery in a rollover week. His third film, Little White Lies, is another win for the Frenchman: a funny and moving tale of thirtysomething friends and the lies they tell.
Little White Lies is Canet's follow-up to the mighty thriller Tell No One and easily his most personal film to date. He cites **The Big Chill **and **Husbands **as influences to the story, but his tone is lighter than either Lawrence Kasdan or John Cassavetes' dramas. For one thing, unless we missed the bit where Peter Falk's swimming trunks fell off, there were 100% fewer moonies in either of those films.
This featurette showcases the film's ensembled cast doing actorly things as they prep for production. Alongside Cotillard there's long-term Canet collaborator François Cluzet, as well as Benoît Magimel, Jean Dujardin and Laurent Lafitte. They play a group of friends whose summer holiday exposes the small fibs and half-truths on which they've built their lives - as well as the odd buttock (and we mean odd).
