Around the world on July 24, 2010, people picked up cameras and recorded their days. The results, ranging from the everyday to the extraordinary, were edited together into Life In A Day, a unique social filmmaking experiment overseen by director Kevin Macdonald and exec-produced by Ridley Scott.
Arriving in couple of formats for your perusal pleasure, the film's new poster shows just a few of the contributors to make the cut. A total of 5000 hours - 80,000 clips - were submitted via YouTube, a project that set out to span the Earth and show the similarities - and differences - of its people.
We have absolutely no idea how Macdonald found time for the Herculean task of sifting through the submitted footage while simultaneously editing The Eagle. If any Roman legionnaires pop up in the doc munching their morning Coco Pops, we'll know what happened.

We'd love to know if any Empire readers got involved - let us know below if you submitted footage of your day, and what you got up to. Life in A Day is in cinemas on June 17.
