The Sundance Film Festival kicks off this weekend, with our Damon Wise there to bring you up-to-the-minute coverage of all the goings on in Park City. But if you're not Utah-bound, here's a tiny taste of what he's in for, with a creepy clip from British thriller In Fear from successful TV director Jeremy Lovering, now making a move into movies. In Fear will be showing as the Park City At Midnight film, a spot that's previously been home to the likes of Trollhunter and V/H/S.

The official synopsis is - like the darkly lit clip here - not very enlightening but rather intriguing. "A young couple fights to survive one night-turned-nightmare. Driving to a music festival, Tom and Lucy have plans to stay at a countryside hotel. But with hotel signs leading them in circles and darkness falling, they soon become lost in a maze of country roads… and the target of an unknown tormentor."

Unusually, Lovering didn't actually show his cast the whole script, and often didn't tell them what was about to happen. We haven't seen the full film yet, but on this evidence we're guessing that he left out the scariest bits when he showed them his plans.

The film stars Alice Englert, also the lead in the upcoming Beautiful Creatures, and Iain De Caestecker, who's soon to be seen in the SHIELD TV show. We don't have a precise UK release date yet, but In Fear is due to hit UK cinemas this autumn. The poster is below, and is very stylish indeed - as eve, click to enlarge.
