The Curious Case of Benjamin Button has been nominated for 13 Oscars and 11 BAFTAs, making it one of the frontrunners this awards season and comforting director David Fincher, we hope, for the way that Zodiac was generally overlooked. Today we have two new clips from the film for you, to give you a taster of what you're going to see when it opens here on Friday.

The story is that of the eponymous Benjamin Button (Brad Pitt) who is born old and ages backwards throughout his life. Raised in an old folks' home, Benjamin at first doesn't realise that he's different from everyone else - as you can see in the first clip, with a five (or so) year-old Button getting up to gentle mischief that his adoptive mother Queenie (Taraji P. Henson) has to watch out for.

Along the way he falls in love with a girl called Daisy (Cate Blanchett) - but his unnatural aging process (or should that be "youthing process"?) means that their love affair has to wait until they're both the right age at the right time. The second clip shows a 20-something Daisy reunited with a Benjamin who appears to be in his sixties (age-wise, he's 20-something too) after he gets back from World War II.

Based on a short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald and with some astonishing effects to show Button's progress, this is one of the most bizarre films of the year - so watch these clips for a taster of more.
