Eva Mmmmendes is having a morbid time. She's about to pop up on screens as the love interest of a flaming skulled biker in Ghostrider and now she has joined the cast of Cleaner, a crime thriller to be directed by Renny Harlin. Already signed on are Samuel L. Jackson and Ed Harris. In the film, Jackson will play a crime scene cleaner who one day cleans up a site without realising that he's accidentally covered up a murder. Mendes plays the widow of mystery death man, who turns to Jackson for help. Exactly what help a cleaner can give, unless it's how to remove blood from the carpet, we're not entirely sure.
That's a solid cast, but Harlin is on a pretty bad run. In fact, he's been on a bad run for most of his career. His last three pictures were The Covenant, Exorcist: The Beginning and Mindhunters. See any of those? Congratulations, you are a member of the smallest club in the world. Still, let's give the man the benefit of the doubt; The Long Kiss Goodnight was pretty good.
