Ladies, gentlemen, sentient trees and genetically-altered critters, the new issue of Empire hits newsstands this week, and we can now reveal our fabulous Guardians Of The Galaxy cover and subscribers' cover. Yes, that is the titular "bunch of A-holes" on our main cover. And yes, those are the nefarious evildoers they're up against on the cover we've sent to our most loyal readers. Get a better look below.
Inside the mag we have our complete report from the film's UK set, as well as updates from director James Gunn and his cast, including Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillen, Lee Pace and Dave Bautista.
"There's a lot of strange stuff in the movie," says Gunn in our feature. "But that's the thing that makes it different. For cinema to remain relevant, you really need to not make every film seem like it's Transformers 18 and to try to make things that are a little bit different."
Also in this month, we look to the future of cinema and report back from Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, The Maze Runner, Jupiter Ascending and, er, The Inbetweeners 2. We also have a fantastic Gremlins reunion, with our report on the people who made monster history, and a look at Richard Linklater's epic Boyhood, a film that literally took a decade to make.
All this and much more when the August issue of Empire hits newsagents on Thursday. Guardians Of The Galaxy, meanwhile, hits UK cinemas on July 31.
