We love Emily Blunt. She's extremely talented, both comedically and dramatically; she's nice to look at; and she's also very witty and self-depracating. So it's with mildly stalkerish delight that we greet the news that she's signed up for The Wolf Man, Mark Romanek's update of the werewolf legend.

At a press conference in Sundance, Blunt said "I'm about to start shooting with Anthony Hopkins and Benicio Del Toro on 'The Wolfman. It's a period gothic werewolf story, it's really good, really smart. Not a film I would actually go and see, because I don't like scary films, but its really, really good."

No word on who'll she'll play, but we'd put money on her being a love interest for Del Toro's character who is torn between her affection for her man and the fact that he's gone all hairy and bitey.

We really looking forward to this one. Those photos of Del Toro getting into character that circled the net a while back looked terrific and Romanek's work on some terrific music videos and One Hour Photo make him a potentially major talent. Blunt's addition is the icing on the cake.

P.S. This is just apropos of nothing, but it really amuses us that a lot of reports are calling this movie Wolfman, all one word, as if it's a surname. It's Wolf Man. A man who's also a wolf.
