Eli Roth Finds Green Inferno Cast

Though from the title you might guess it’s a new eco-superhero tale (suck it, Captain Planet!) The Green Inferno is actually Eli Roth’s return to film directing. He’s been developing it for a few months and has now rounded up Daryl Sabara, Kirby Bliss Blanton, Lorenza Izzo and Ariel Levy to fill out the cast.

Eco-themes are present, though, as the group plays a naive band of student activists who journey from New York to stage a protest in the jungles of Peru about deforestation.

Sadly for them, they don’t encounter pissed-off loggers as much as they fall foul of cannibals. You can guess what happens from there...

Roth intends the movie as homage to one of his own favourite horrors, Ruggero Deodato’s Cannibal Holocaust (the title is the same as the film-within-a-film in Holocaust) He co-wrote the script with Aftershock**’s Guillermo Amoedo. The screaming starts when the cameras roll in November in Peru and Santiago, Chile.

Despite not having made a film himself since 2007, Roth has been a busy man, mostly co-writing, producing and starring in Aftershock, producing and co-writing **The Man With The Iron Fists and co-creating Netflix series Hemlock Grove.
