Edgar Wright Kicks Off Ant-Man's Pre-Production Process

Edgar Wright is not a lazy man. His may not be as prolific as, say, Ben Wheatley or David Gordon Green have been recently, but he’s only taken a scant month’s break between a busy press tour for The World’s End and heading to Los Angeles to start pre-production work on Ant-Man for Marvel.

Now I'm back in LA, it's high time to finish a little something I've been working on... [pic.twitter.com/ko3u1q45C4](http://t.co/ko3u1q45C4) > > — edgarwright (@edgarwright) [October 2, 2013](https://twitter.com/edgarwright/statuses/385458310184316928)

As the tweet above shows, Wright is filling up on espresso to begin the long slog of bringing the script he wrote with Joe Cornish to the screen.

With regards to the picture, we doubt it’s actually from the current production: it’s much more likely that this is from the test footage he used to wow Comic-Con back in 2012.

We’re excited to see Wright’s kinetic style matched to the size-shifting, genius superhero Hank Pym, and the fact that the project is moving forward means we may soon learn who will play the title role. Ant-Man**’s release date recently shifted from late 2015 to a spot in the crowded summer of that year, so it’s hardly a surprise that Wright is throwing himself into work on the movie. Watch this space for updates…
