Early Zero Theorem Trailer Surfaces

Terry Gilliam back exploring the sort of off-kilter, bureaucracy-choked futuristic world he first dug into with Brazil. Christoph Waltz, Matt Damon, David Thewlis, Tilda Swinton, Melanie Thierry and Ben Whishaw in the cast. And some startling, original visuals. As you might guess, we’re excited to see anything from Gilliam’s latest, The Zero Theorem, even if it’s an unofficial grab of a sales trailer that could vanish at any time.

The Zero Theorem finds Gilliam firmly back in offbeat territory with a surreal and subversive film that stars Waltz as a number cruncher named We, who is stressed, scared and searching for answers in a frustrating universe. He’s offered the chance at what could be his most important job – figuring out the zero theorem.

His quest is helped (depending on how you look at it) by the allure of Thierry’s Bainsley, a woman who offers passion he’s simply not used to. But it puts him into conflict with the mysterious leader named Management who oversees the world.

We were already anticipating this one. The first look just tripled that anticipation. The Zero Theorem, frustratingly, doesn’t have a release date yet.
