There have been myriad rumours swirling around about the fate of The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus, Terry Gilliam's latest film, which shut down production after the tragic death of one of its stars, Heath Ledger. All of those rumours have been based on very little, hence us not reporting them.
Today it seems sure that the film will go ahead in some form since the official site has just launched here. There's almost nothing to it at the moment, but this seems a clear declaration of intent that the fantasy movie, about a father offering his daughter's hand in marriage to whomever can save her soul from the devil, will make it to cinemas.
Gilliam and the movie's producers will have to tread very carefully on this given Ledger's involvement, but we think Gilliam can be trusted to act as sensitively as is necessary.
