Who says that 2D animation is dead? Try telling that to Winnie the Pooh, who’s set to return to the big screen in a new hand-drawn Disney adventure.
The last time A.A. Milne’s lovable honey-eating creation appeared in a theatrical release, **Pooh’s Heffalump Movie **made just $18 million in 2005. But, with Pooh apparently the second-biggest licenced character franchise IN THE WORLD (bold, underline, italicise), Disney feel it’s time to give Winnie another shot at movie stardom.
The new Pooh movie is scheduled for release in 2011, but no further details are currently forthcoming. Will it be an adaptation of an existing Milne story? Will it be entirely new? Would you be more excited about this if it were in super-shiny 3D, with Dobly surround sound? As ever, opinions and comments below.
