Del Toro Strain Signing Tonight In LA

One for our LA-based readers, this. But if you happen to be in the City Of Angels tonight, pop along to Meltdown Comics, the legendary comic book store on Sunset Boulevard, where Guillermo del Toro will be signing copies of his upcoming vampire novel, The Strain.

Co-written with acclaimed horror writer, Chuck Hogan,** The Strain **is the first part of a planned trilogy of novels about a vampiric virus that first runs amok in New York City but has the power to devastate the world, **The Strain **is every bit as creepy/entertaining as you’d expect from the guy who directed Blade II and the Hellboy films, yet has a literary bent that can only come from the genius behind Pan’s Labyrinth.

The novel’s out on June 2, but del Toro’s flown into LA straight from New Zealand, where he’s prepping The Hobbit films, in order to launch the book with appearances at Borders in Westwood and then the midnight signing at Meltdown. For more on that appearance, click here.
