Though Michael Caine let the word slip last month, the idea that Daniel Radcliffe might appear in Now You See Me 2 has been unconfirmed until now. Lionsgate has officially announced that Radcliffe, Lizzy Caplan and Jay Chou are aboard the sequel.
Returning for another go-around after last year’s surprise hit are Caine, Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Morgan Freeman, Woody Harrelson and Dave Franco. While Isla Fisher isn’t mentioned, the press release does say that illusionist team the Four Horsemen reunite, so it may yet be that she returns despite currently being pregnant. Unless the group is just Eisenberg, Harrelson and Franco, and is renamed the Three Horsemen, which really doesn’t work as well. The Three Amigos? Nah, it’s been done.
The plot finds the gang together to face a new enemy (probably Radcliffe since he’s playing the son of Caine's Arthur Tressler, Walter) after they are recruited for a fresh heist. Caplan – who could conceivably be taking over Fisher’s spot – will be a woman named Lula, while Taiwanese idol Chou is set as Li. Jon M. Chu will direct the film, with shooting due to kick off soon ready for a June 10 release date next year.
