When we first saw that Daniel Craig was headed for a film called Dream House, we had the whimsical notion that the sometime-Bond would be starring in a wacky remake of Mr Blandings Builds His Dream house. In fact, this one's a psychological thriller for director Jim Sheridan, and therefore more in the rather serious actor's comfort zone.

The story sees Craig play a New York publishing executive who moves, with his family, to a small New England town. As we know from a dozen Stephen King novels, that never ends well - and sure enough, the new house turns out to have been the scene of a vicious murder.

We're guessing there's quite a bit more to it than that, but the exact twists and turns the film takes remain to be seen. The script was written by David Loucka, previously best known for the Whoopi Goldberg NBA-coaching movie Eddie and the Michael Keaton mental-patients-framed-for-murder movie The Dream Team.

Shooting starts on Dream House in January, just after Craig finishes his Broadway run opposite Hugh Jackman (steady, ladies) in A Steady Rain.
