Good films about football are rare - especially if the sight of Pele slaloming through a square-looking Wehrmacht back four doesn't do it for you. That could be about to change though, judging by The Damned United trailer which has just hit the internet.
The Damned United sees Michael Sheen add another British icon to his CV, in the motormouthed form of managerial legend Brian Clough. The film recounts the end of Clough's successful stint as Derby manager and bitter 44 days in charge of Leeds United in 1974. And, at the end of the day, it looks terrific.
**The Damned United **also stars Jim Broadbent as Clough's belligerent Derby chairman Sam Longson, Timothy Spall as long-time assistant Peter Taylor and Colm Meaney as his Leeds' predecessor Don Revie. It hits our screens on March 27.
