With the parade of big names, remakes and sequels looking to storm the halls of Comic-Con this year, there are the odd projects that look to sneak in and steal some awareness. A top candidate for this year’s event is Lionsgate’s I, Frankenstein, featuring Aaron Eckhart as a slightly more handsome (if scarred) Frankenstein’s creature than we normally expect. Check out the three new Con posters courtesy of MTV, Slash Film and Comic Book Resources in the gallery below.
With Stuart Beattie making his second stab at directing one of his scripts (based on the graphic novel from** Underworld**’s Kevin Grevioux), I, Frankenstein is set in a dystopic present where vigilant gargoyles and ferocious demons rage in a battle for ultimate power, Victor Frankenstein's creation Adam (Eckhart) finds himself caught in the middle as both sides race to discover the secret to his immortality.
So, yes... a lot that we’ve come to expect from Grevioux here (various supernatural types duelling it out for something special) but hopefully a nice twist on Mary Shelley’s creation and a potential sleeper success.
We’ll find out more when Empire hits the Con this week, and hopes the Con doesn’t hit back too hard.
