If you were lucky enough to attend the Walking Dead Comic-Con panel today, you'd have seen the likes of Steven Yeun, Andrew Lincoln, Chandler Riggs, Danai Gurira and Michael Cudlitz talking about zombies as well as revealing a new trailer, which you can watch below.
But before you get too excited / nervous / terrified, know this: the trailer may be messing with your head. “We sometimes play with the truth in trailers,” explained Showrunner Scott Gimple. “Rick is absolutely faced with challenges with way he does things… Things may not be what they seem.” What they seem to be, of course, is what many feared: an almighty tussle between Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Morgan (Lennie James) as "safe haven" Alexandria is defended and fought over.
Still, don't get too anxious: there's a swamp zombie to look forward to, as well as an extended 90-minute premiere episode that will air in the US on October 11. Plus! This panel revealed what Norman Reedus's favourite emoji is (he likes the red balloon).
You might have noticed that there's been no mention of beloved (and generously bearded) co-creator Robert Kirkman, and that's because he was sadly too sick to make it to San Diego - but it's all good, because those that did make it, such as FX guru Greg Nicotero, brought along paddles with his face on and wiggled them about a lot.
Walking Dead prequel / spin-off Fear The Walking Dead is out in the US in August, while Walking Dead season 6 is will start on October 11.
