It’s somehow fitting that Godzilla is going to have one of the biggest promotional presences at this year’s Comic-Con. After all, he’s not exactly a small creature. There is already one ‘Zilla teaser poster online and it’s been followed with another teaser image and some concept art of the beast threatening an aircraft carrier. Check them out via Warner Bros. and Kaiju fan site Skreeonk.
While Con-goers will get their first clear look at the main monster this weekend with a Godzilla “encounter” attraction and the film’s panel on Saturday, we expect that the world at large might also get to see him in all his glory, even though the movie isn't due until next year. We'll of course have a full report from the panel.
For now, though, Warner Bros. and Legendary are just showing hints of Godzilla, with his bony back and spiny plates on show here.
The movie finds him attacking in traditional fashion with humans such as Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, David Strathairn, Ken Watanabe and Richard T. Jones trying not to get stepped on while figuring out what’s happening and how to stop it. Godzilla attacks our screens on May 16 next year.
