We thought that Wednesday Addams was the role that Christina Ricci was born to play. But her latest, may be an even better fit. She'll be playing the female love interest, Trixie, in the Wachowski Brother's live-action version of kids' cartoon Speed Racer. And with her round face and huge eyes she could probably star in an animated version of the film. All she needs is a slightly higher voice and herky-jerky movement.
Speed Racer is shaping up pretty damn well, in our opinion. The casting so far is top draw. As well as Ricci, Emile Hirsch is signed as Speed, a young man dedicated to automobile success, John Goodman as his dad and Susan Sarandon as his mum. It's also easy to forget, after the disappointment of the Matrix sequels, that the Wachowskis are among the most brilliant action directors in the world. So, we can't wait to see what they might do with a car chase movie.
