Christina Ricci has signed on to star in Born To Be A Star, a comedy – or, if you will, a cumedy – about the porn business, co-written by one Mr. Adam Sandler.

Sandler, though, won’t be appearing in the comedy; nor will the lovely and talented Ricci be playing a porn star, which may disappoint some.

Instead, the movie will revolve around a young man who discovers that his parents were massive porn stars during the 70s. Engorged encouraged by the news, he sets off from Northern Iowa and heads for Hollywood in the hopes of becoming the biggest porn star in the world.

Ricci will play the girlfriend of the as-yet uncast lead. Let’s hope her character has a tad more depth and shade than you find in Sandler comedies.

Tom Brady – the director of Sandler-associated flicks, **The Hot Chick **and The Animal (both starring vehicles for Rob Schneider) – will direct, which isn’t always the most encouraging sign. But we’ll roll with it for now, for **Born To Be A Star **has the potential to be crude, rude but hopefully pretty funny too.

Sandler co-wrote the script and will share production duties with Jack Giarraputo, although the movie will not be a Happy Madison movie. Instead, Miles Deep Prods. is overseeing the production. And yes, you may snigger at that name all you like.

Filming will begin at the end of April.
