Floppy hair? Check. Girlish good looks? Check. Ability to cut loose? Not yet proven, but he's got some time. Yes, Gossip Girl's Chase Crawford has been confirmed to step into Zac Efron's Sunday shoes for the Footloose remake - and since the film isn't due to shoot until next year, he's got some time to nail his dance moves between now and then.
The plot sees a new teen from the big city move to a small town and there lead a rebellion of teens against the town council, who don't approve of dancing and won't let them hold a prom. Together, they have to strike a blow for the right to wear '80s dresses and dance badly in that horrendous '80s style. Hmmm. It's possible that they may update that from the Kevin Bacon version somewhat.
Production doesn't start until next March, so it will probably be late 2010 / early 2011 before we see this hit screens.
