It’s new poster time, people, and this one’s like well arty and stuff. Juliette Binoche and Abbas Kiarostami arty (and stuff). That’s right, it’s **Certified Copy **– also known as Copie Conforme – but you knew that already. You’ve read the headline, probably.
For those not in the know, or weren’t all over this year’s Cannes Film Festival coverage, the film won Binoche Best Actress for her enigmatic, nameless role and was, for the most part, a well-received, thought-provoking piece.
Starring alongside newcomer William Shimell (in reality an opera singer, in the film, an art academic), it’s essentially the Juliette Binoche show set around the delightful sights of rural Tuscany as the nature of originality is discussed and the concept of a ‘relationship’ is thoroughly played about with. Oh, Abbas Kiarostami, what are you like.
