With Comic-Con next week, we’re likely to get a good look at some footage from the next instalment of Steve Rodgers’ story in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. But before any of that kicks off, Disney is offering up the teaser poster, which simply features his shield.
**The Winter Soldier **sees Chris Evans’ hero still struggling to embrace his role in the modern world, despite the events of The Avengers. He teams up with Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow) to battle a powerful, shadowy enemy in Washington, D.C.
That’ll turn out to be a resurrected Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), who has been cybernetically altered to become the assassin who gives the sequel its subtitle.
Along for the ride are Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Georges St-Pierre, Frank Grillo, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp, Maximiliano Hernández, Robert Redford, and, of course, Samuel L. Jackson.
Joining Cap in Hall H at the Con on July 20 will be Marvel’s other big hero release for the year, Thor: The Dark World. There’s a new image from that movie online as well, featuring Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster and Rene Russo as Queen Frigga looking like she’s spoiling for a fight. {Thor: The Dark World Frigga Image}
Thor: The Dark World is out on October 30 this year, with Captain America: The Winter Soldier set to follow on April 4, 2014.
