Bryan Singer has not been shy about posting images from the set as he shoots his latest X-Men film, Apocalypse. Today’s pic finds a lot of people hanging around a green screen stage – literally, as the crew completes a shot that will feature Peter Maximoff, also known as Quicksilver.

The character was something of a standout in last year’s Days Of Future Past, so it makes sense that Singer and writer/producer Simon Kinberg would try to match it in Apocalypse. Of course, bottling that particular lightning might be tricky as the combination of Evan Peters’ performance, the special effects and the music choice felt like a one-off idea. Still, we’ll see how he’s used in the next film.
Apocalypse finds the team, including James McAvoy’s Professor X, Michael Fassbender’s Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique, Nicholas Hoult’s Beast, Rose Byrne’s Moira MacTaggert and Lucas Till’s Havok plus new members Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), Angel (Ben Hardy) Cyclops (Tye Sheridan), Psylocke (Olivia Munn) and Jubilee (Lana Condor) facing off against Oscar Isaac’s powerful mutant Apocalypse. We’re promised that the villain of the piece will show up in various forms and will be gathering his traditional horsemen – corrupted versions of some of our heroes.
**X-Men: Apocalypse **will be invading our screens on May 19 next year.
